Two model clubs meet at the shop on a monthly basis. Both run annual modeling competitions in the local area which we gladly support as a vendor. Several gaming groups are a consistent presence in the shop playing Confrontation, Warmachine, or 40k. On Monday nights you’ll find folks here for Confrontation or Warmachine. Every third Saturday of the month is Warmachine day. On Thursday nights, it is the 40k league and Friday sees the swarm of young'ns play 40k. Friday night is also Historical Naval Gaming – usually using 1:1200 scale ships – working out various scenarios from WWI and II. These are open games for anyone who’d like to get involved with historical naval wargaming. Monday nights are Boardgame night – several local folks get together and play all types of strategy games. There is no special group involved – whoever shows up and brings some games gets to play! Lastly, the Last Square is always promoting the hobby. Currently, each month we send out a mailing to nearly 200 young folks who have come through our store expressing interest in learning about painting or gaming. Every Tuesday is Painting Class – where we have four staff available from 6-9PM to teach beginners the basics of figure prep and painting as well as finishing steps such as dry brushing, inking, sealing and basing. |
